Why is invalid code a problem?

Invalid code is currently supported by the main browsers. However, browsers that are being built now and into the future will follow WC3's code recommendations more closely. This means that invalid code and "hacks" may render poorly, incorrectly or not at all (throwing errors or hiding content from some devices).
